Hey! I guess, I'm finally getting back on the TD train!
Thank you for sticking around that long and I'm sorry it took like forever!
It's been a rather challenging time for me, and knowing that that many people are still interested in what I might do, was a huge motivation for actually starting doing something again.

Finally, I had ...

Update - plz, read

Alright. Hey, everyone!

As you’ve probably noticed, I wasn’t so active for the last couple of months. I’ve been meaning to write this post for a while, `cause I feel like I owe you an explanation, but it’s always difficult for me to put my thoughts into words. So it took a while.

The thing is, I am always bad at focusing on o...

Recursive curl

Recursive curl

Hey! Turns out if you take a curl from an image that's already displaced with curl, displace it again and then just do that in a feedback loop, it get's rad pretty fast!

Don't worry, once you open the file it will make more sense :)

I've put together a little interactive example for you, check it out!

Matrices and rotation!

Matrices and rotation!

It's time to rotate things while getting familiar with the concept of matrices. Really useful, especially once we start getting into more complex stuff!

Hope you're going well!

As usual, if something is not clear or you think I've missed something, drop me a message or a comment

Cheers!

Snakes!

Snakes!

This "snakes" simulation is a little example of how to handle simple constraints in GLSL.

For each snake, every point other than the head tries to catch up with the current position of the point before it.

You can adjust snake count on the go, as well as the length.

There is a bunch of comments in the GLSL code, so I hope...

GLSL -2 Moving particles

GLSL -2 Moving particles

Hey! This tutorial is my best try to explain particle movement, with GLSL

Using texture buffer as point positions, and direction vectors, and mixing different types of velocities! Hope you gonna love it, if there's something you'd like to know in a bit more detail, don't be shy to ask :)

Cheers!

Particle separation

Particle separation

Here's another setup that uses feedback "offscreen" rendering.

There are two different rendering feedback loops, the bottom one renders particles as white circles + a bit of feedback trails. I then use that image to compute slope, and feed it back into a GLSL particle system.

Each particle looks a couple of steps ahead, and use...

GLSL part 1

GLSL part 1

Hey, here's another video from the GLSL series!

It's all about sampling and manipulating UVs, which is an essential thing, if you wanna get into GLSL

Hope you gonna love it :)

P.S. Let me know if something wasn't clear, or if I missed something important

Cheers!

GLSL - part0

GLSL - part0

Hey! I've spent last month preparing a little course on GLSL, the first part is out now!

I'm planning to make a bunch of videos on the subject, especially focusing on particles, and different simulations, but I see a lot of people struggling with GLSL, so I decided to start from basics, to make sure we're all on the same page once we...

Physarum/slime particle system

Hey! Here's another project file.

This one is a 2d self-organizing particle system: my attempt to implement Physarum with GLSL.

If you are not familiar with that type of simulation I really recommend this video by Sebastian Lague: https://www.youtube.com/...

Particle system with texture3d

Particle system with texture3d

Hey! I've been researching a lot of stuff on particle systems and wanted to share this little experiment.

Unfortunately, most of the simple TOP operators (Math, Composite, etc.) don't work with texture 3d input, but you can simply substitute them with a GLSL TOP. You just have to select texture3d as an input option.

Then you need to ...

Audio-reactive flex fluid

It's been a while since I've made any Patreon special tutorials, so here's one!

A bit of GLSL, a bit of flex fluid simulations. I hope you're going to love it :)

If you're interested in any specific topics regarding flex fluids in Touchdesigner, or if you have any questions, please drop me a comment!

Cheers!

Vote for topics!

Hey! As many of you know, I've been trying out very different things in Touchdesigner. While it's pretty fun to dip my toes into numerous topics every now and then, I feel like I've been losing some overall focus.

So, I have in mind a list of several things that I'd like to explore for longer periods of time (like 2-3 months) and I need yo...

Hey! I've made a new short tutorial

I can't help to go back into playing with feedback every once in a while. It's just too much fun to fiddle around with. If you are like me, I think you gonna love this one :)

Cheers!

Hey! I'm glad to share a new component that I've been working for a while now.

I'm using a little 3rd party python library to parse SVGs into sops. the library is called svgelements, and can be found here: https://github.com/meerk40t/svgelements

Using 3rd party python libraries

Hey! Skipped a week because of a cold, but now I'm back and ready to rock! hehe

So, before I start to work on any python tutorials and components that heavily rely on using external libraries I decided to make this short tutorial, just to make sure that we're on the same page :)

Hope you'll find it useful!

Angles

Hey! It's been a pretty busy week for me, not as much time to play with Touch as I would love to. But, I've managed to finalize a pretty nice setup inspired by Polyhop's work for you to play with and dissect :)

The basic idea behind is to feed a trail back into a particle system and use it for simple collision detection:

Each particl...

Hey! I've been messing around with basic machine learning models, and though one could make good use of it in Touchdesigner especially for controlling stuff.

So here's a basic project with a couple of components that I've made.

Try it out, if you have any issues plz write me or leave a comment, I'm gonna release it once It's re...

Nvidia Flex Solver - part I

Hey! I've been digging into the Flex Solver Comp recently, it's so cool! So, in case you've been skipping to learn how to operate Flex Solver too, here's a short tutorial ;)

Also, there will be part 2 where I'll dive more into ways to utilize Flex Solver for a general particle simulation. Stay tuned!

Hey! So here's a little project file I've been working on.

It's a variation on recursive diffusion technique. This one explores some options to make it look completely different than usual. Almost feels like a fluid sim, at least I wanna think it does :D

There's a null comp with the most important parameters

Also, I...

Hey! I'm back with another video. More particle stuff, this time it's a 2d system driven by vector fields.

Super useful setup. Really powerful and simple to implement. Enjoy!

No compute shaders involved, so if you are on a Mac this .toe should still run smooothly

I've made a simple plexus comp - using a GLSL compute shader - you can save it to your palette and reuse it in multiple projects.

The way it works is rather simple - you need to provide a buffer with points in space - I use Noise TOP as an exa...
