While some of the aftermath of Vienne's death has been talked about in side fiction, I never really got to show it properly in the comic, so that opportunity was relished here. There's something so forlorn about Mathis sitting there in the dirt getting yelled at.

I'm afraid no one made Vienne do anything. The woman knew pymary. You pop her once, you get a warning scratch. You pop her twice, and one of you isn't leaving the room alive. So that was some very bad advice that Mathis acted on.

Quigley's called on Swarm's smaller bugs a few times, but he hasn't summoned its giganto form since his fight with Duane. Mostly because it's expensive in terms of agitation. Mind that khert-fire, Quigs, being a Plat is only going to get you so far.

Better to let them pick on the Plats than to invite their fangs into your neck, kiddo. Jivi's been a lot better at hiding his baggage than the rest of the cast, but he's not gonna get away just flying with one carry-on. At least not forever.

Corpses pretty much always wear out before their masks do. When that's the case, a plod handler trots their stinky labourer down to the nearest plod facility, and the mask is cleaned and fitted on a new body. We saw a whole wall of coolers with prepared bodies in it when Jivi and Quigley first breached this nasty hellhole earlier in the chapter....
