Added 2025-04-28 03:39:15 +0000 UTCWhile some of the aftermath of Vienne's death has been talked about in side fiction, I never really got to show it properly in the comic, so that opportunity was relished here. There's something so forlorn about Mathis sitting there in the dirt getting yelled at.
Important: I want to do the final chapter update in a big chunk of 20 pages. I feel very strongly that this is best. Unfortunately I still have 8 more pages left of it to draw. So I am pausing it here. I have never done this before! But I am granting myself this final indulgence. It is possible something happens and I fall one or two pages short by the deadline, but if all goes well I hope you'll come back here on May 12 for the finale, when it will be posted.
I'm quite mad at myself that I didn't get it drawn before having to take a break but man, having a print deadline fall right at the end of the book as it did really just beat me in the face with a wrench. But I'm going to go haul ass to get the final 8 pages done, even if I gotta pull a few all-nighters!

Oh man, 20 page finale - I understand the drop-at-a-time thing is just the way webcomics go, but that sounds like it's gonna be satisfying; every time I've reread an entire chapter I realize how much better it flows. I mean, duh. But still - exciting. Also good lord this page is wrenching.
