I'm pretty chuffed, no lie. I thought I was gonna embarrass myself and have to get my family members to register for KS and follow it, and the publisher was going to regret signing me, and I would perish of lameness and humiliation.

I wasn't expecting the full custody bonus but I figured Emil was done when he told the Queen that his remaining arm was spoken for. The man definitely deserves a quieter life after everything he and his family have been through. I suspect the dual experience of big city nobility shizz vs. more 'everyday' bucolic endeavors with her dad's family will probably serve Chea well in the long run and make her a more well-rounded person, too. Tangentially related, knowing what we know now about the Queen's machinations, that scene of her in the tower after her sister's assassination hits a lot harder upon reread.
