A couple days later I'll get an email from Yoko that says "Hey, the page is done and in the drive!" Sometimes there are additional notes like why she made some of the creative decisions that she did, or just some questions about the final product and how it looks. 

I hop over to google drive and bask in the glory of the finished product ...

But hey, at least more emphasis is on the teeth here - I'm just trying to make it look a little more intense, given how much fighting there's going to be.<...

Nitrinhia's a crazy talented artist, and it's always a really bad idea to micromanage a creative person in their craft. So...

It's not often I get to draw a bunch of headshots.

It's all ACTION and REACTION but very little talking heads. They're a nice break when I get them, though.

I have an older Epson Expressions XL Scanner that can easily grab the entire sheet of Tabloid paper in one go. It's pretty awesome, and the best part is that I got it dirt cheap at a yard sale several years ago. It weighs about a thousand pounds but it's beautiful and I love it.

How to Write a Concise Script

1. Have a thousand different versions of a script where Thistle sees/hears the explosion and runs towards it. 

2. Ask yourself if it can be summed up in one panel/4 words.

3. Draw that panel.

4. Hope it won't disappoint readers.

5. Suffer mild panic attacks until reader response.

I was curious to see how that profile shot I just posted of Orrig would look from the front, so I did a quick turnaround. I think I really like it!

I guess Orrig has a massive schnoz now.

I swear, Book 2 is going to have the GREATEST model sheets and the characters are going to be most CONSISTENT looking m-effers out there.

This is by no means the final page count - there are about 2 or 3 big fight scenes and they're all a big mess that need to be tied down a lot more, which might affect the final page count.

Once I get all the fine lines down, I go back over everything with my fancy brush pen and thicken up some of the lines to add depth and value. Makes the page more interesting to look at.
