This page really blew my schedule. That first panel took me a day to draw all by itself, both in coming up with the layout and executing the details. I want to call that complex Hairy Bitch Mall.

Unfortunately the pencils for the second panel have been lost. Which is really annoying because I completely re-penciled that sucker before inking.

Hope everyone has a happier Easter than Alex is having.

I'm using the two news-streamers, Bok and Jerome, in part as convenient expositors of the story and in part as PART of the story. Because the news media is always part of the story even when they pretend to be neutral observers.

Hugo has long been a controversial figure. There's a history here between Hugo/Murphy and the Pillars that I'll explore a bit in this story but wont' really be able to flesh out until later, if at all.

And so Alyss' oldest friends return. It's All Hands On Deck Time when a war is starting.

Long-time readers will know that Doctor Hugo Galvéz has more experience with wars, and not in a good way, than most people think. The question is, can he stop one now?

I had to do quite a lot of tweaks to Murphy's appearance between the pencil ...

One reader asked me whether the giant Alyss-head in panel 3 was a comics trope or a holographic projection. I'm not sure whether it matters. It sure seemed real to Jerome.

I "cheated" a bit here by pulling in an image of Casa del Silvestri (Alyss' former home) in the background of panels 4 and 6. Alyss put that on the back wall in an effort to honor/memorialize a fallen friend.

Changes a-coming

I'm working on some changes to my Patreon page, as indicated in today's comic.

The changes will come in bits and pieces over the next two weeks, leading up to a Special Offering to be announced March 2.

Two changes I've already made:

1) I have "unpublished" the $1 tier, meaning that Patrons who have already donated at that...

Drawing the wrecked versions of all these rooms was, oddly enough, easier than drawing the nice, pre-disaster versions. Might be due to the practice I've had since then, or might be because I could free-hand everything rather than using CSP's rulers and shape tools. The shaky lines look all too appropriate here.

And that's it before the holiday break. A short Chapter One sets up the basic plot and on Dec. 30 the story continues. How will the denizens of Bubbleopolis respond to this attack? What was Diana Martelli's fate? Where is Alyss Roaz while all this is going on?

Stay tuned!

These pages took extra time to draw, especially page 5. I didn't expect agriculture to be so complicated.

The gynoid "Melissa" was modeled on my second wife, the mother of my elder son. Even though we've had some differences I'm still fond of her, and am glad she seems to be having a happy life now.

A lot of this is re-hash for those familiar with the series but I want this story to be accessible for people just joining in now.

Bok will be appearing a lot in this series, as a kind of narrator. But he won't be on every page. Likely less than half of them.

For Volume 7 I've decided to upload these two pages at a time. Each pair of pages is a week's worth of comics, so maybe I can keep up with this schedule. I'll shedule one week per day for the rest of this month until I'm fully caught up.

At least, that's the plan.

We start out as a segue from Château Périlleux to the new story. It...

Ok, I should have uploaded these over a month ago. I got busy. I'm having to drive for Uber part-time and it's wearing me out. I suck. Whatever excuse works, I guess.

I do enjoy drawing the Martello siblings, and they'll play a role in the new story arc, "This Means War." We probably won't see those arbiters again, although I'm kind of fo...

The Trial, first half

I've been  getting some mixed responses to the question of how people like getting a set of pages in a single upload, versus one page at a time. Those objecting say that they liked the commentary I attached to the single pages. So, since I went ahead and dumped a bunch of pages this time, I'll add some commentary covering the whole "Trial" ...

Future Timeframes in QV

I've spent some time thinking about how a civilization spread across hundreds of worlds would keep time. Obviously, denizens of a given world would measure their days and years (and sub-intervals of same) by the rotational and orbital periods of where they live. This is how it was on Zytemonde (story arc "Venus 23").

But what about Bubbleo...
