Another problem with this format is it's harder to do proper battle scenes. But since most people view the web-comic on their phones now I'm pretty well stuck with this. Until phones can project images holographically that are wider than the phone, or something.

I inadverdently skipped a bit where Otto sees Diana get shot and carried away. I'm going to bring that up in a later strip, during the trial.

Poor Otto. He's a good friend and really tries his best, but he's such a doof. He's totally crushing on Diana but doesn't know what to do with his feelings.
Having nothing to do but ruminate about your failings is its own kind of torture.
Originally I was going to have Belbenoit be Diana's tormentor but what with the model for Diana being a Canadian I thought I'd make a character based on a politician the real Diana is disgusted by.

This was one of those times when the four-panel / six-panel format was really annoying for me. I wish I could have spread that split-panel 3 across two full panels, but I needed the page to end with Diana getting shot from behind.
That fifth panel on this page took me almost two days to ink, I want everyone to know.
Yeah that second panel doesn't look too cool in pencils, does it? I relied on the "perspective ruler" available in Clip Studio to render Wook's arrival in the inking stage.'

You might notice some considerable changes in the first four panels, between pencils and inks. Writing a conversation involving six people sitting together in a bin is harder than it looks, especially when one realizes late in the game that Alyss should be sitting next to her bodyguard.

Some of my readers think there should be a third Martelo brother. We'll see.
When I started drawing Wendy Sokhsov, I had in mind modeling her on Wendy McElroy. But I don't think I pulled it off.
Diana doesn't have time to feel sorry for herself. The game is afoot!
Some readers read this scene as Diana sexually harassing Areum. The way I see it, Diana was overly-optimistic that Areum might come to reciprocate her feelings. Lesson learned.
