The Trial, first half
Added 2019-10-30 20:41:28 +0000 UTCI've been getting some mixed responses to the question of how people like getting a set of pages in a single upload, versus one page at a time. Those objecting say that they liked the commentary I attached to the single pages. So, since I went ahead and dumped a bunch of pages this time, I'll add some commentary covering the whole "Trial" mini-arc.
I separated the trial out from the original story in part because I wanted to be able to finish the arc in time to get the book ready for Christmas shopping season (it should be available on our store page later today, and on Amazon, B&N and in electronic form on DriveThruComics soon afterward). Another thought was that the trial would mostly be a recap of the story and was dialog-heavy and interrupted the flow of the main story.
A third thought was I wanted to have something short and cheap to sell at conventions. For some reason people seem reluctant to drop $20-25 on a story they haven't already been following on-line. Go figure. But I can do short runs of this and sell them for $4 and let folks dip their toes in the water, so to speak. The "floppy" (as we call it in the trade) will include a few pages of promotional material for the entire line of QV and some other BHP books as well.
Tomorrow or the next day I'll upload the pencils and inks for the second half of "The Trial," which concludes on Friday. Then I'll take a week to get things set up for the arc to follow, "This Means War."
