I bought this lovely little 5" JVC monitor a while back. When I got it it was in really crappy condition, full of dirt (was definitely used on location in some muddy scenarios) and it had a big break in the screen bezel that really annoyed me.
The first thing I did when I got it was a complete disassembly and a deep clean of all of the parts. It went back together for a couple of months and was used for a preview monitor for my video art/VJ work until the other day when I finally got around to repairing that break in the bezel. With most of the world in lockdown and trips outside being limited i had to get creative. After some googling I found a method on a model making forum that involved using baking powder and superglue. Worked a treat and i'm happy with the repair. The case got a coating of white gloss then it was finished off with a pearly clear coat.
Cant do much about the scratched/dented aluminium on the front panel but it doesn't bother me too much. Last thing left to do is find some new caps for the knobs but more than happy with it for now!
