This week the playtesting and editing has continued, and we're quite happy with the changes we've implemented lately. There's a scene with Bree where we want to make a punch land just right, and we've tried several different ways to do it already. Switching renders around, choices, QTE, keeping it linear... It's a tough call. We ended up changing things up slightly when it comes to the other characters, so the choice feels better and more impactful.
0.7 introduces several new side characters that are part of the girls' stories and troubles. They've been mentioned in passing before. And no, these new characters are not love interests. We have a feeling they wouldn't be your type either.
We've also continued working on SFX, placeholders and code in general. We might try to record our own cheek slap SFX as well so it sounds just right. For that immersion.
We've also received a few questions about the "placeholders" we mentioned last week and thought we'd clear that up to avoid confusion.
By placeholders we mean edits and transitions in moments where we've decided to add new content while editing or playtesting. One easy example would be new renders where characters are talking and having their mouth open or closed in the render. Sometimes the dialogue can go on and on without any changes on the screen, which is something we try to avoid. Adding a few extra renders here keeps everything more lively as you play.
However, the cinematic angles are probably the most fun additions we like to create. Like the one in the header.
