A City on Fire: The Men at Arms

"They marched out to meet the foe, warm ale sloshing in bellies, bawdy chants and mocking gestures erupting from their ranks. They were the last defenders of Geets, that fair and unwashed city, they were its saviours, the Mighty Men at Arms."

"Ancient Trebuchets still tore at the ramparts. The pitiful remains of the Marsh Barons' forces, though broken, launched vengeful globules of screaming hellfire, but it could not unsettle its saviours, the Magnificent Men at Arms."

"They pushed through the crowds, starving and grovelling peasants, jubilant to see them, seemingly grateful to be kicked and trampled in the teeth by such worthy heroes, their saviours, the Marvellous Men at Arms."

"Still, the excruciating pangs of injustice tore at the Men at Arm's hearts. Unsacked and unlooted, the peasants, perhaps, it could be argued, needed saving from... their valuables, and so, to the screams of the crowd, came their saviours, champions, and legends, a few pints short of a picnic, the Murderous Men at Arms"

The Murderous Men at Arms, by Márton Kapoli

An absolutely amazing piece by Marton https://www.instagram.com/kapoli_marton/ for the Shattered Lance.

This is a little bit of a new one actually, as its the most "on model" piece we have, based quite closely on the upcoming Men at Arm's set. I wanted to try it, while also encouraging Marton to add as many little extra turnipy bits as he liked. What do you think? How did it turn out?

Lots more art to come... even a real life oil painting!
