Puss in Boots: The Last Wish - Is A Must Watch!! - (EXCLUSIVE UNEDITED REACTION 🔥)

Comments

User score is high, box office is doing amazing - this came out at the tail end of December is already up to 200 million. Not only that, but Puss in Boots was only released to VoD - which means you had to pay to buy or rent it. That adds more to the overall income. Death is such an interesting character and I loved his portrayal in this, but more importantly, Perrito stole the show for me. That scene in the forest with Puss having an actual panic attack and Perrito just resting his head on his lap got me so hard. It's so simple but so effective in showing kids and adults how a therapy animal can help, and is so validating for those who DO use them. I've never had to use one, but I can imagine that being able to feel seen like that must feel incredible. Puss literally fighting his mortality and learning to appreciate life for what it is is such a dark and existential lesson to teach, too. There's a lot of great lessons in this film, and can lead to a lot of amazing discussions for families to have with their kids. This movie makes me so excited for more Shrek content and I haven't been since after Shrek 3.

I LOVED this movie - I haven't fully liked a Shrek-franchise film since Shrek 2, but this one was such a delight in terms of writing and visuals. Speaking of new animated films to watch, since you did both of Disney's versions of Pinocchio, I would LOVE to see you watch Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio. It came out on Netflix last month and is such a vastly different take - but also so incredibly creative and thematically interesting.

Some vocabulary for anyone who reads this (including Jv ofc!!!) Perro = Dog (chien - Fr) Gato = Cat (chat - Fr) -ito = Small (petit - Fr) So… Gatito = Small cat, — and Perrito = Small dog (Perrito is the name they decided to keep for the dog at the end, so basically, in Spanish, his name is “little dog”). Kitty gave Puss a “Gatito Blade” or, a “little cat blade”, to make fun of him. Also, during the fight between Puss and Lobo (Wolf, or Loup in Fr), or in this case “Death”, Death said “Por qué diablos fui a jugar con mi comida???!” Which roughly translates to “Why the hell did I go play with my food???!” — Live your life, Puss in Boots, and live it well. You know we will meet again, right? Then Puss says “Sí, hasta la muerte” (Yes, ‘till death). Can’t wait to see Perrito in the future of this franchise! His friendship developed similarly to how Shrek and Donkey’s did, so I’m curious to see Perrito’s interaction with the rest of the Shrek crew! Loved your reaction to the reveal! My sister and I went to the cinemas and immediately thought “He’s the grim reaper” because of the trailer, the scythe and the cape, so It was nice seeing someone blindly react to this!

I LOOOOVED this film and I'm so glad you did too! I cannot wait for the future of this series, there is so much potential! I highly recommend you watch Spirited Away if you haven't already, truly a monumental film for the industry and animation in general.
