A powerful item
- At egscomics
Is it a sword? A shield? A violet? Wait, a violet? Isn't that just a color? (Checks) I guess it can be a flower. It's probably not a violet, though. No idea why I said that.
Commentary
It was about fifty dollars new.
And was Fashionpedia by Fashionary. Also, I guess it says it's a "dictionary", not an encyclopedia?
Anyway, it's for comic stuff! It's fine! And it has one of those, like, built in bookmark ribbon things? I bookmarked dresses. For dress stuff!
It also has a ton of information in it I'll never, ever use, but, um...
It has so many different types of pockets in it, you don't even know?
(It's possible I gave into an impulse when I got it, but now I have it, so it's definitely going to get used, darn it!)

The idea of Susan doing a runway strut is somehow far more amusing than any of the others... Those "I will kill you for this" eyes...

Pedia. Encyclopedia. I agree. It's not a doctor.

So now you have to* find a way to get all the main cast (save Susan, of course) in pretty dresses, whether in the main story, non-canon NP, or a series of sketchbook/milestone pictures.
* You do not actually have to, but it would be cool if you did.

I have a social science degree, so I can say confidently that if the word "reference" appears in the title, add $20 to the price.

Like most categorical constructs, the distinction between a dictionary and an encyclopedia isn't as clear-cut as one imagines.

It's less than I paid for one of three hardcover books for the new edition of my favorite tabletop RPG...

I have various books of history that can be used as encyclopedia. I'm a amateur historian so it's always useful, for instance I own Brassey's Battles: 3500 years of conflict, campaigns and wars from A to Z.
Always nice to have a kind of encyclopedia.

... Does that mean we're going to get to see a bunch of pretty dresses in future? Because I'd call that patreon money well spent.

If the name ends in pedia, it's an encyclopedia type book, I don't care how much it insists that it's actually a dictionary.

It was probably $50.00 US. That’s like… $75 dollars in Australia!

It’s a book, and knowledge is power. Therefore, it is a powerful item.

Gotta be something you can claim as a business expense on your taxes.

50 bucks for something that can be used for your primary money-making tasks doesn't really sound like something to be much troubled about. (Whether its *justified* or not is a slightly different question, but still. If it was just a hobbie than it'd be slightly more questionable, but still meh.)
