Attack of the mean girl tomatoes?

Commentary

The genuine answer is “of course not”.

My earliest memories are of preferring female characters in stories, wanting to play as them in games, and wanting action figures of them. Like, that was VERY innate with me.

And this was in the olden times with the dinosaurs and such. There were fewer female main characters in kids media in general, action figures of such characters were rare, and simply ordering them wasn't an option. You had to risk getting attacked by dire wolves in order to go a physical store and hope they had what you wanted (assuming it existed at all).

Hair!

I wasn't planning to draw my hair up like that, but the more I tried to make it work while sitting at the sofa and drawing, the more I figured I'd just tie it up in in some way, and I didn't like the results I was getting from ponytails.

Comments

This is my own experience in a nutshell. Almost all my life I've preferred a female character option whenever available. I used to think it was the old "I'd rather look at/watch a female character for X hours" thing, but as I've aged and grown its become very clear that I just more strongly identify with those characters.

Axion Zeta-One

That was the first video game I played female too, but the princess was my least favorite character, because she sucked at everything besides floating. Maybe I'd have a different opinion now.

Stephen Gilberg

I've always preferred female characters in games, but that's just because I like girls. To quote Max0r, "I don't want to spend ten hours looking at man ass."

Ed Abrams (aka The Superdak)

I'm much the same when it comes to games and character creation, and woman characters in general. I've always preferred stories (regardless of media) about women and found them more interesting, and I always play a woman character in a game if possible.

SMB2 is the same reason I dress with an open shirt and parachute pants.
