Since you didn't seem to recognize him, David was played by Lin Manuel Miranda, the composer of Hamilton and Encanto and co-composer of Moana. Lin was a huge fan of the show who helped save it from cancellation in Season 5, so he was invited to play Amy's brother here. Ironically, though, it's Rosa (Stephanie Beatriz) who got cast in Encanto and in the film adaptation of his first Broadway musical, In the Heights (both with Olga Merediz, Rosa's mom).
