I'm currently holding off, but MIGHT get suckered out later. This event currently appears to me to be predominately a squall line over poor chase terrain in Eastern OK / Western AR. Supercells seem probable initially in SE KS, but it appears they will quickly congeal into a line. The thread cover image is the SPC's 8AM ou...

Since I've been passing by New Orleans a lot these days, here's one that translates to "Curse of the Chicken Dance." There's a certain scene with a chicken and Lisa Bonet in the 1987 film "Angel Heart" that inspired me to write this song. bok bok.

This was some scribble from 7am. Might nudge the target North a bit. Expecting messy mixed-mode storms. Maybe I’ll sift a supercell out of it all. Will try to post updates in this thread.

Here's what I could muster up Easter Sunday. Wish I would have recorded the fireman. It would have been uplifting for people to see the brave heroics and caring... But we had other things on our mind. Thanks Patrons for sending me out there.

Here are clips of Paul Smith and I totally nerding out. Paul documented sprite activity over a storm complex while I documented the parent cloud-to-ground lightning activity under the storm complex in June of 2019. In real time, you'll miss some of the CGs, but they're there (if you watch frame by frame).
My next video wi...

I will not be chasing the big event Saturday. A little too out of my range to invest 40 hours of driving (there-chase and back) for storms forecast to cruise 50+ mph.
So, I thought it would be fun to chat about the event as it unfolds here.
In the 4PM CT NAM run above, you can see reflectivity (precipitation) laid...

Here's one of mine from a decade ago. It's about the obvious clues and my failure to see the clear signs... Something's awry! And then it goes in to a long rant of TMI.
I use some of the tracks from this song for a spacey vibe in several storm videos, but it might be to little to recognize. But, you can clearly rec...

I’m not chasing today... Nasty supercell near Jackson could be producing a tornado. That other cell near Gulfport also is worthy of extra attention.
