I finally finished a drawing that I had been working on for quite some time!
Ephippus writes that in the court of Alexander in his later years, he had a silver Kline and golden chair in the garden to talk with his friend. This may have happened in Babylon, but I set it in Susa because I want to draw Alexander and Hephaestion. (Alexander is in Babylon in 323 BCE, Hephaestion is already dead😭)
Ephippus' hostile pamphlet is very interesting and it is a pity that it has not survived in its entirety😢 If you want to read fragments of Ephippus, I recommend reading Deipnosophistae by Athenaeus. I like this classics very much!
It is very cold in Japan these days. Please take care of yourselves and the cold🙏
Thank you for looking at my drawing!
