What a Child Killer Looks Like

In October 2018, 5-year-old Zykerria Robinson was spending the evening like any typical child her age; playing, watching television, and occasionally pushing boundaries with the adults in her life. Unfortunately for Zykerria, her mother’s boyfriend, Jonte Harris, lacked the parental understanding needed to gently correct normal childhood misbehavior.
Instead, Harris severely beat Zykerria until she lost consciousness. Zykerria’s mother, Michelle Cannimore, allowed her child to lie on the couch, completely unresponsive, for five hours until she took her to the emergency room.
Harris and Cannimore concocted a story about Zykerria falling and hurting herself in the shower, but detectives became suspicious when the evidence didn't bear out their claims.
