On May 31, 2014, Annisa Weier and Morgan Geyser attempted to carry out their plan to murder their friend, Payton ‘Bella’ Leutner. They had been planning the murder for several months, and decided that Geyser’s birthday party sleepover would be the perfect opportunity.
Geyser ended up stabbing Leutner 19 times, while Annisa encouraged her and held Leutner down so she couldn't escape. During questioning, both girls claimed that they had decided to kill Leutner to prove that Slenderman existed, and to win his favor.
