2023-07-01 10:39:48 +0000 UTCI really didn't like Xander threatening to kill Buffy even if he didn't rally mean it. Seems like an anger issue. I'm not sure leaving them behind was the wrong decision given her state. It turn out badly but taking them could have put them in danger as well. Her bitchyness came from her trauma, and not in any lasting personality change.

Buffy tried something new where the main character was actually affected by the events (like, umm, dying) of the last episode. I have to say, it was a groundbreaking TV episode - one of many to come in this show. Consider this the 13th episode of Season 1 with a Season 2 feel. Others can talk about PTSD much more eloquently than I, but this was a classic case of it.
