Hey Daniel, which of the two do you personally think is more likely, Apple or another company buys sony pictures (which could also lead to sony selling spider-man early so they get something in return) or sony and disney reach a new deal?

It’s stated in the original contract, one of the terms. If sold, the rights would not transfer to the new owner

Also curious, why would the rights for Spider-Man revert to Marvel regardless where Sony goes? Why wouldn't whatever company that acquires Sony absorb the Spider-Man rights as well? Just a little confusing to me lol.

Lots of insiders are saying this and I'll be over the moon if it goes through and the rights go to Marvel, but Disney and Apple also have a good work relationship and it's hard to imagine Apple not working with them with Spiderman if the rights don't revert back

Answering to everyone here; There are talks behind the scenes hopefully we'll hear something soon.

Is there actual talk of the buy or is it just speculation we’ve been hearing for a while?

It'd be at least 2ish years before the deal even gets complete (examples being the AT&T/Warner acquisition and the Disney/Fox acquisition). If these are just early talks, it'd be a while before it all gets finalized. But could these behind the scenes talk regarding Spidey not be interfered regardless of what ends up happening to Sony?

If word is getting out, I’d assume it’s closer than farther at this point. I’d also assume Disney is running out the clock as a back-up strategy. Even if rights don’t revert, the relationship is stronger, and Iger just resigned—COI with Apple streaming and a purchase?

Do you know when will we hear more about Apple possibly buying them? However this happens, I just want Spidey back. #SaveSpiderMan

If Sony is purchased by Apple, when would we potentially hear about it? Is this a deal being planned out for this year, a deal potentially happening in the next FEW years, or nothing but mere whispers; still in the planning stages?
