[ JADEN "KOOB" KOOBLER ]
11-13 YEARS OLD. HEAVYSET. Koob is not exactly the picture of an athlete, far from it. He's an untoned gamer who looks like he hasn't seen the sun in a very long time. In his basement, lit by a glowing TV, surrounded by empty Pringles cans and laundry everywhere, he never breaks eye contact with the TV - his fingers flying, the rest of him not moving a muscle. He has amazing reflexes - if you throw something at him - he can knock it away without batting an eye. When asked to join Evan's team, he's reluctant but eventually decides to step out of his comfort zone and do it...SERIES REGULAR
[ ADIB "SAM" SAMITAR ]
11-13 YEARS OLD. SOMALI OR AFRICAN AMERICAN. Sam is "a crazy daredevil skateboarder kid" who doesn't like to play by the rules. An expert skater, he comes flying past Evan, jumps off his skateboard and throws his body hard into a vending machine, Johnny Knoxville Jackass-style - dislodging a bag of M&Ms. Wild and fun-loving, he says " when someone dares you to do something, you gotta do it, right?" He joins Evan's hockey team because he likes the idea that Evan's planning to break a few rules...SERIES REGULAR
Story line: When EVAN is kicked off The Mighty Ducks junior division team, he is devastated. After all, he loves hockey more than anything in the world. ALEX, Evan's mom, is fed up with the system - and encourages Evan to put together his own team. Evan has to find the players - and she'll find the coach and an ice rink for practice. It's no easy trick - but they're both up for the challenge. Evan has a lot of heart - and his mom will fight like a mother tiger to see that Evan gets to do what he loves to do - play hockey...
