FULL LENGTH HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX (2007) | FIRST TIME WATCHING | MOVIE REACTION

Snape and James bullied each other. Snape even called Lily a Mudblood

Katie

Hi, new here, does anyone know why every time my copy of the movie being watched keeps pulling ahead of theirs? Is it because they're watching on Amazon Prime and I'm on HBO Max? Is there a FPS difference or something? No matter how long I pause my video to let them catch up and even pass me, I always seem to end up ahead

Paul-Mihail Draghioiu

I really hope you do Bram Stoker's Dracula with Gary Oldman ( Sirus Black from Harry Potter) Keanu Reeves - (The Matrix) Winona Ryder - (Edward Scissor hands) Anthony Hopkins( Silence of the Lambs) FOR VALENTINE"S DAY

Lisa Rhodes

Hey guys, love your reactions! Please consider A Fish Called Wanda for your next comedy. 96% on Tomatometer. Thanks

Harrison Silver

It's possible but I don't think that never comes up in the books or Rowling's commentary.

I've also noticed something in the many rewatches of this movie I think that Percy was being Imperiused by either Fudge umbridge or both didn't you see he was twitchy when detaining harry and Cho after DA was exposed? In the movie at least that explains some things but not how it took so long for Percy to reconcile with his family

"Still got the SNAP in the wrist" 💯👍💥😋 I loved this! Also loved Amber picking up on how powerful Ginny is. J.K.Rowling has said that she had the "seventh son of a seventh son" scenario envisioned when creating Ginny. She is the seventh Weasley child and, while Molly is specified as having two siblings, Arthur's sibs are never mentioned, so we can assume Arthur was the seventh of his siblings.

BRT

I'm an old Ravenclaw boy myself 💯👍💥😋

It's an interesting debate. I think it comes down to Gandalf in essence is on the level of an angelic being who has had his potential power limited so that he remains in the role of a helper to the beings of Middle Earth, while Dumbledore has free use of his extraordinary magical skill and power compared to other mortal magical beings on his level. If they are gauged with Gandalf's limitations then Dumbledore might rank higher but without Gandalf's limitations his abilities would be virtually limitless.

BRT

Agreed. We all have our moments of failing to the dark. If only we knew in advance how profoundly those failings can wound and affect others and even entire lifetimes and histories yet to come, we might have pause to turn back to the light and avoid it. I love how the character of Severus Snape becomes even more complex and there's a deeper layer of understanding him in this book.

BRT

Something else that doesn't get explained is Percy Weasley and how he turned on everyone, Harry, Dumbledore and even his family. He had gone to work in the ministry and became one of Fudge's minions. He can be seen at Harry's inquiry and several times with Umbridge and finally holding both Hermoine and Ron in Umbridge's office as she's about to perform the cruciatus on Harry. Also of note, the tapestry where Sirius shows his image was blasted out had several other blasts as well. One, his cousin Andromeda Black who was disowned for marrying a muggle, is sister to Bellatrix Black Lestrange, and mother to Nymphadora Tonks.

Hi Jay and Amber, I think it’s interesting that you mentioned Dumbledore fighting during your outro. I’ve seen a couple of other reactors debating who was the greater wizard. Dumbledore or Gandalf

Tara

Yep she played professionally for a while too

Karl Kraus

Great point! It’s like what Sirius said to Harry about everyone having light and dark in them, but which do they choose to live by. James grew out of that childhood phase.

Tara

I totally agree! Considering how much they love LOTR, I think Jay and Amber would love the complex characters and seeing their growth as well as the storylines. I really hope they do watch it.

Tara

Ginny ended up being an amazing Quidditch Player.

Right! I knew the Gryffindors had the worst go out of everybody Angelina Johnson being all over Harry didn't help things either 😒 and Ginny... she was the MVP for sure in this year she really outshines everybody, her brothers, even in the DA meetings she was fire 🔥 Also who can forget the Weasley is our King debacle? I forgot that Ron went out for Keeper this year first, not in year 6 first Ron really needed to prove himself this year His baby sister doing better before him messed with his confidence Thanks for the reminder!

Karl Kraus

I watched another reaction channel Badd Medecine and when that scene came up, one of the reactor said ''Jab her in the throat with it'', talking about the quil and I thought it was hilarious and pretty much summed up how everyone felt at that moment 😂

When it comes to Quidditch, Umbridge kept the Gryffindors from having a full team most of the times. Harry was in detention most nights where he was supposed to practice with the team, and after the first match against Slytherins (where Draco talked bad about the Weasley's family and Harry), Harry and the twins got banned from playing Quidditch because of the way they jumped on Draco to try and beat him up. The Gryffindor's team had to find replacements most of the year for 3 players. Ginny played Seeker in the place of Harry and did amazing. But yeah, Umbridge didn't shy away from sucking the enjoyment out of everything that should've been fun in school.

Hermione and Harry do spend a lot of time with the Weasleys, but Hermione goes home during the summer and Harry returns to the Dursleys each summer.

Yea this movie truly has some of my favorite gems that I live by (the book too ofcourse), but as shocking & disappointing as I was with the realization of the truth in Harry's father as a kid, I feel like that too is very relevant to the fact that, nobody’s perfect, and even people who seem like they are or have always been, maybe have had a flaw to then that they had to check & fix. That even our heros can be someone else's vilan, & it's all the same sad, Harry's father grew out of being a bully, but that's all Snape will ever see him as.

Some more book things for you: Mrs. Figg, the little lady in the beginning, she's more than meets the eye. She's a Squib, a being born in a magical family but presents no ability to use magic themselves. She's like Argus Filch, the Hogwarts caretaker. She knows what's been going on with Harry and the Dursleys all this time. In the first book, it's said that the Dursleys kept him at Mrs. Figg's house from time to time because I think that was arranged between them and Dumbledore in the letter that was with Harry the night he was left on their doorstep. She was hired by Dumbledore to help with watching over Harry while growing up. Quidditch WAS affected Jay. The season was either manipulated negatively or cancelled outright, I can't quite remember. Ron and Hermione were made school prefects for Gryffindor House. It was very puzzling that wasn't even remotely hinted at in this movie. Seeing that happen, especially for Ron, was quite surprising. Readers all over must have been shocked to learn about James Potter's true character. After being praised as a hero fallen, in young life, he was a bully in school, along with Sirius, another fan-favorite. What's worse, the fact came from Snape's lips pretty much every chance he got in saying it to anyone who might listen. Learning that about a parent you never knew makes it again much worse. Hearing anecdotes from people about somebody and finding out something deeper truly breaks the heart. The book illustrates this more clearly than what was in that 25 second flashback. In case you don't remember, Padfoot is the codename for Sirius' Animagus dog form. It was his Marauder nickname. You heard it a few times in this movie. James even said it in the memory of Snape being bullied. He even said Moony, Lupin's Marauder nickname. Amber, it really made my heart warm when I saw you embrace everything Sirius was saying to Harry in the Black family tree room. It reinforces the fact that you are a strong Hufflepuff through and through. You seek balance and justice in everyone you see. Luna really is a clever young witch, just not in the traditional sense. She epitomizes the Ravenclaw House quality of immense intelligence to a T. Having her as an ally is a treat.

Karl Kraus

The more I watch yall react to these, the more I think yall neeeeeed to watch Game of Thrones. If you ever decide to venture into a tv show.

Kevin

This may be a bit uncouth to admit, but I think I might actually have thrown Umbridge out the goddamn window the moment that first cut carved itself into my hand. Nobody makes me bleed my own blood.

TheToweringOtakunt

Luna is in my house, Ravenclaw. I know that they don't openly say who's in which house in the movies.

Anika

It only gets harder (darker) from here... y'all just don't know what you're in for. Keep the blanket close!
