YT EDIT PRETTY WOMAN (1990) | FIRST TIME WATCHING | MOVIE REACTION

It hasn't been rec'd in a while but I really enjoyed Julia Roberts in "Sleeping with the Enemy" in 1991.

I just watched this today because of people responding about how it's a better film. I liked it, but it is not an alternative to Pretty Woman. They are very different movies. O & G is more a drama, that has some romance in it. More of an adult coming to terms with his life and committing to a direction and the girl is along for the ride. It's not a comedy in any way. I found myself a little uncomfortable with the nudity (though very minimal, but they should know this up front), and also some other stuff. But overall, yes, it's a good movie.

that is your opion and I agree hookers are people too they need to make money but to for every women talking about this movie as a excellent movie no sorry. Unless you work on the streets and meet a wealthy man maybe this cinderella story would make sense. They even say it in the movie" When did it work out Cinderfing rella." This is not a rom com . Rom Com have humor , and romance where is the humor in this? ( Comedy) Great funny roccoms Just go with it (Adam Sandler, Jenifer Aniston) Just Married( Ashton Kutcher, Brittany Murphy)How To Loose a guy in Ten days( Mathew McConaughey, and Kate Hudson)Blended Adam Sandler and Drew Barry Moore) The Other Women( Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, Kate Upton)

Lisa Rhodes

My pitch for a rom com that both will like is French Kiss. Not as well known, but very funny, not sappy. Set in France, which Amber will like. Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline.

Kristin D

Another good romcom Jay might like is Hitch, starring Will Smith and Eva Mendes.

Jason Walters

I couldn't disagree with you more. Pretty Woman is excellent, and hookers are people too! If it's not your particular favorite, maybe just ignore it and wait for the next movie reaction?

If Amber wants opera and really wants to feel it she should watch Phantom Of the Opera. It will move you if you like opera. I love opera.

Lisa Rhodes

D'oh! you are correct. 😳 Wonder how that false fact crept into my brain? I mean, if you're going to have a head full of useless facts, they should at least be accurate. 😁 Thanks for setting me straight. Made an edit. But regardless, I stand by Penny being the better director. 🎦🤓

Penny was his sister

Elizabeth Franco

Robert I already know that they saw Steel Magnolias. I was answering Jordan’s question about where they saw Roberts before! But thanks for your unwarranted critique 🙄

Elizabeth Franco

Excellent suggestion, but... already done: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J20vpgvqvv8 But as long as you bring it up, actors from that film I wouldn't mind seeing them following up with might be: Dolly Parton -- 9 to 5 (1980) Shirley MacLaine -- Terms of Endearment (1983) -OR- The Apartment (1960)

Robert Greffey

I don’t think you’re gonna find a lot of people that agree with you on this. When this came out, this was as big as grease and dirty dancing. Every woman was talking about this movie.

Michael Lynch

Julia Roberts recommendations: “The Normal Heart” “Wonder” “Erin Brockovich” “August: Osage County” (set in Oklahoma) “Stepmom” and “Oceans Eleven”

Patty Estrada

An officer and a gentleman next!

Shutter Crazy

These type movies are all alike, see one seen em all. A stand alone GREAT movie is what you want to spend time on, like…… “Seabiscuit”.

John

Please watch Runaway Bride starring the two of them again.

Carolyn

It's a little surprising to me how that (IMHO) great film is so often overlooked.

Jay keeps saying he's not so keen on the film romance, and yet... he seems to get sufficiently invested with each we watch. Also, as someone who lives in LA, I was amused with Jay talking about the “rough side” of Hollywood. The actual district of Hollywood is almost entirely rough side. Only one major movie studio is sill based there (Paramount). The Walk of Fame, Chinese theater, cheesy souvenir stores, with a decent open air mall are nice to see, and the underemployed actors dressed in costumes charging for pictures can be a bit amusing. But there's also an awful lot of tattoo parlors, pawn shops, and bars squeezed in between the homeless encampments and sex workers. I'm not especially fond of Garry Marshall's directing work (I prefer his sister [not daughter🤪], Penny, who directed Big and A League of Their Own), but this is probably my favorite of his. I'm more fond of his work as a powerhouse TV writer and producer working way back with The Dick Van Dyke Show, and helming Happy Days and all it's various spin offs. But his work here helped make Julia Roberts the superstar she is today. The Richard Gere film I think you need to put on your list is An Officer and Gentleman. You've already reacted to the hit song from it on your music channel. Lou Gossett Jr. ended up winning a Best Supporting Actor award at the Oscars for it, but I think Gere's performance was every bit as worthy of a trophy. You'll just have to get over the shade a drill sergeant throws the way of your home state. And as long as I'm throwing out film suggestions, if Amber is keen on some more opera in her film, then you should check out Amadeus. There's enough opera in that where you'll either get over it, or end up scanning ticket sites for the next local performance of The Magic Flute.

Robert Greffey

boo really think this is such a boring chick flick. Sorry a hooker meets a rich guy . That's it. Iconic movies are like Revenge of the Nerds, Animal House. The Birds, The Thing, Escape from New York or La( Snake Pliskin) Night of the Living Dead everyone has heard the famous line from that movie . " Their coming for you Barbra . " come on if you haven't heard it then you have been living under a rock. Do something other than a Street Walker Cinderella . Great movie to watch is Flatliners with Julia Roberts , Keifer Sutherland and Kevin Bacon . Good Halloween one.

Lisa Rhodes

Steel Magnolias

Elizabeth Franco

Yes most definitely An Officer and a Gentleman for your next Richard Gere film and for Julia Roberts ,Erin Brokavich

Elizabeth Franco

You guys HAVE TO SEE, “An Officer and a Gentleman”!
