2023-09-29 23:27:59 +0000 UTCDave is such a sweet sweet movie. Would it be Romantic Drama? It's not really a comedy. I love that movie. And seeing Sigourney Weaver in a totally different role is excellent. Just like seeing her in Galaxy Quest (which I forgot to add to my list of sci-fi).

2023-09-20 15:21:36 +0000 UTCDirector Ivan Reitman (last seen on the channel for Ghostbusters) also directed the highly suggested Twins. If I recall correctly, it was Arnold's first turn at comedy, and a big risk. But it turns out Arnold can work a comedic angle, and it was nice to see the two paired again here. Another Reitman film that I've seen suggested a few times is Dave, starring Kevin Kline. Jay is not the first to notice a resemblance of The Incredibles character Edna Mode to actress Linda Hunt. Apparently director Brad Bird conceded that she was one inspiration for the character along with famed Hollywood costume designer Edith Head and others. Ferrets are fun pets though more than a little high maintenance. For a variety of reasons I no longer keep any myself, but watching this always makes me miss them. Also, I was rather disappointed that despite a few encouraging words when asked on the campaign trail, once elected, Gov. Schwarzenegger didn't do a damn thing to try to change the law keeping ferrets illegal in California. 😡

All three movies were filmed in the same town just a few years within each other, and like the others it’s very heartwarming and quirky.
