2023-09-29 15:00:59 +0000 UTCBy not killing Gollum, Bilbo SAVED Middle Earth! Isildur was unable to destroy the ring by himself. Even Frodo failed to save the ring alone. It took the selfishness and evil of the ring to destroy itself. Without Gollum, Frodo would have kept the ring and Sauron would have quickly took it from Frodo. The ring and Sauron did not account for two ring-bearers being alive at the same time. Frodo vs Gollum was the only way it could be destroyed. And by staying his sword with mercy Bilbo made it possible for the ring to be destroyed.

As many times you may not know which you are watching please get in the habit to say what the length is of your movies that way we know which version to rent or buy. The extended are not important for the first two Hobbits but the third should be extended as it really adds a lot, and not just filler.
