EARLY ACCESS YT EDIT BACK TO THE FUTURE PART II (1989) | MOVIE REACTION | FIRST TIME WATCHING

Comments

Like I said in a separate comment thread for this movie, I have autism and I'm their age so that adds up to me trying to give them an improved viewing/reacting experience if they noticed the time circuit dashboard, they MAY have been able to connect the dots later Little details like this in movies are fun to find and hoping to see reactors find the same ones is fulfilling to me, like we're on the same page so I apologize if I seem to be trying to defy their style but I'm only being my partially erratic self, nothing against them personally I love and respect them too much to do that

Karl Kraus

Right! Totally forgot about that one! It'll also be renacted like the wild gunman game!

Karl Kraus

There’s also the Clint Eastwood clip which Biff is watching in the pool. Another clue.

Jeff Mills

I like “Back to the Future II”, but I prefer the first one which I like the most and the third one I like more than this one. I miss Crispin Glover being in this. The “What are you? Chicken?” line gets old fast. I love Elisabeth Shue, but I miss Claudia Wells. Her mom was diagnosed with cancer which is why Claudia did not appear in this. She stopped acting for a few years. Initially, I was confused with the timeline. I had to watch it a couple of times to figure it out and I’m with Amber in that I needed Doc Brown to explain it on the chalkboard. I made a joke at the time that I would have preferred John Madden. “So Biff steals the Time Machine! Boom! And he goes back to 1955! Then boom! He goes back to the future and he’s messed up the past! Then boom! Marty and Doc got to go back to the past!” I love how they reshot the scenes from the first movie. I love the 80s cafe which I think would be a great place to visit. The Max Headroom-esque depictions of Ronald Reagan and Michael Jackson are very dated now, but pretty cool at the time. Now they probably would have AI MJ or Reagan. It’s fun to see how the future could have been versus what is. The hover board in this movie is awesome. I love Marty’s shoes and jacket. I’m thinking that the reason why George was murdered is because Crispin Glover did not return. Had he returned, perhaps George McFly might have been sent to jail or prison framed by Biff. We would have seen Marty visit his father behind bars and maybe sharing a cell with Uncle Joey. Who knows? I really did like this movie, but it’s more fun to watch with other people and any time we get to hang out with Amber and Jay is a great time. ❤️🙏

Jeff Mills

I’m a Cubs fan. Like it or not, they earned it. What a great World Series that was, too.

Jeff Mills

Respectfully, I disagree with you. I think Amber and Jay are having fun and they are always lots of fun to watch movies with on here. We’re not always going to pick up on little clues and hints the first time. That’s why movies like this are so good because every time you see them you find something new. It’s not unlike a music reaction. I’ve listened to songs many times and there are things I discover each time I listen. Asking Amber and Jay to tone down the joking and speaking to each other humorously is integral to their relationship. It’s what couples do. It’s what friends do. It’s what families do.

Jeff Mills

Yeah, kinda surprised The 5th Element hasn't come back around on a another poll or as a pick-up episode since it lost by such a narrow margin to E.T. the last time it was put to a vote.

Robert Greffey

There's also another futuristic Bruce Willis movie, Fifth Element. Defnitely a unique view of the future. Plus they'd get to see Gary Oldman (Sirius Black) as a villain.

Kristin D

At least it's not the Exorcist (which I would never recommend them watch)!

Kristin D

Thanks Lou I DO try I really do it's just they sometimes twist the schedule up and by the way Jordan put it, star wars may not come back until just after the 4th of July and these weeks to wait for are starting to become longer and longer I just really love watching them enjoy the stuff I love the most and Star wars is that, no question about it and they've said it too a number of times especially Amber, and episode 7 might be their favorite of all, including the ones unseen because of how despised the next two are and they'll definitely be surprised, no matter how much they like them So... in short, I'm an autistic man so I get out of sorts at times since I love movies so much and want to share all my favorites that I can in the shortest time possible and whether I like it or not, it doesn't really work that way on here so thanks for the support Lou

Karl Kraus

Yep Sleepy Hollow will REALLY make their stomachs turn over

Karl Kraus

🤓

Rollo Tomassi

One member to another … try to loosen your grip and enjoy the ride more my friend … it will all be ok. It’s impossible to make everyone happy all the time, but they do better than most providing variety and also sticking with a series. May peace be with you.

Rollo Tomassi

"Ed Wood" would be on my list of Depp movies for the channel.

Robert Greffey

I'm hoping they will watch Depp in Sleepy Hollow this October.

If I recall correctly, Back to the Future 2 & 3 were among the first films in a series to be shot back to back or simultaneously. That's why they were able to pack so much footage for the 3rd film onto the end of this one for a preview. Richard Donner's Superman and Superman II shot concurrently. The producers of those films (Alexander and Ilya Salkind) had gotten into trouble earlier in the 70's for contracting crew and talent for one really long Three Musketeers movie that they then split into two movies and screwing those folks out of some pay they deserved. A lawsuit fixed that, but because of that, when productions like The Matrix 2 & 3 and the Lord of the Rings trilogies shoot multiple films at once, it's crystal clear in the contracts and union deals. If you were amused by what Zemeckis in 1989 thought 2015 might look like, you might get a couple of laughs at how Ridley Scott's “Blade Runner” depicted Los Angeles in 2019. Actually, it's grim enough where “laughs” might not be the right word. But interesting. Can't wait to see if 2032 is anything like the movie “Demolition Man”. I do have an interest in how “the future” is depicted in different time periods. In the 20's, Fritz Lang's “Metropolis” depicted the future cities buzzing with with biplanes and blimps. Cars and building are often designed with what looks futuristic for its time, but end up looking dated soon after. From 1930's gas stations that look like they were leftover from a Flash Gordon set, to jet and rocket inspired car designs of the 50's, to buildings from the 60's that look like they belong in a Jetson's cartoon, somehow yesterday's vision of “the future” seems to become quickly retro. Looking for some time travel, AND some Bruce Willis? If so, maybe consider "Looper" (2012).

Robert Greffey

...and that's the reason why Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure still stands as the most realistic depiction of how time travel might work, if real. And sadly, they're smarter about using it than The Borg from Star Trek. 🤣

Robert Greffey

thought you were going to Do The Mummy series ?Or Something with the Great Icon Johnny Depp's 60th Birthday ? Cry Baby , What is Eating Gilbert Grape, Blow, Secret Window. So many even finish some of the Pirates series. This is a great movie too but timing I guess. It is so sad that Michael J Fox ended up so ill with Parkinson . He was on top of the world still is he is amazing man.

Lisa Rhodes

One of the kids who was trying to play Wild Gunman in the Cafe 80s was a really young Elijah Wood, who played Frodo in the Lord of the Rings he was the one that said "you have to use your hands?!"

Karl Kraus

Amber, you're right about Huey Lewis being in the first one But in case I misinterpreted your meaning, he wasn't in the Dance scene he was the judge at Marty's audition for the 1985 dance that said he's "just too darn loud" and shattered his confidence Good memory though Speaking of Huey Lewis, listen to "Back in Time" from him and the News PLEASE!

Karl Kraus

No offense to Cubs fans on this channel but... I can't believe that the Chicago Cubs ACTUALLY won their first World Series in 108 years (2016)! I guarantee the writers put that in here as a joke to that humiliating fact! The ONE thing they got right... it's this Even though it was a year late, they still got it right Unbelievable

Karl Kraus

I love the Back to The Future film series, but man, this one has the biggest time travel plot holes of all the films! The events in this movie should not happen, and it's hard to just ignore! First- When Doc, Marty and Jennifer travel 30 years into the future at the beginning of the film, their "future selves" should NOT be there! They took themselves OUT of the timeline by traveling to the future, so when they arrive in 2015, to everyone else they would have been missing for the past 30 years. They established this in the first film. At the beginning of the first movie, when Doc's dog Einstein traveled 1 minute into the future, to Doc and Marty, Einstein disappeared and was missing for the full minute before he reappeared in the time machine. So... "old" Marty, "old" Jennifer and their kids should not exist when Marty, Doc, and Jennifer arrive in 2015. Ok, let's ignore that huge plot hole for a moment. The other big time travel logic hole involves "old" Biff from the future. So Old Biff steals the time machine and goes back to 1955 to give young Biff the sports almanac. After that, old Biff should NOT have been able to return the time machine back to the normal 2015 timeline. The future he would have time traveled to would have been the new "alternate" 2015 that was created when he gave young Biff the sports book. Doc even explained to Marty on the chalkboard why they couldn't go back to the "normal" 2015 to stop old Biff from stealing the time machine and almanac, because they would be traveling to a future of THAT timeline that was created once old Biff gave the sports almanac to his 1955 self. Sorry so long-winded!

David Crabtree

The Jaws 19 easter egg was a mocking jab at the efforts of movie producers trying to make a Jaws movie just as good as the first one, WITHOUT having Steven Spielberg in the director's chair and 2, 3 and unfortunately, 4 were NOT good like the first one Plus, one of Steven's sons, Max, was the director for Jaws 19, it was on that marquee display where the "fake" shark came out and "ate" Marty

Karl Kraus

There were clues throughout this movie that the next one was going to take place in the Old West 1. The game cabinet in the beginning, "Wild Gunman", had Marty shoot down cowboys ("crack shot"), which will be reenacted in the next movie as well 2. Doc said when getting Jennifer away from Hilldale and leaving with Marty, he said he wanted to visit the Old West when he still wanted to research human history 3. Which brings me to the last clue: Doc had trouble with the time circuits, which kept going in and out and they read "Jan. 1, 1885" for the destination time When he was leaving the hiding spot to pick up Marty at the school roof, the dash said that date again when he collided with the billboard, thanks to that wind from the storm Respectfully, if you guys weren't joking around with each other, you would've noticed that It was SUPER important That's why the letter that Marty received from Doc was dated Sept. 1, 1885, exactly 8 months from the point in time he was transported to when the time machine was struck, like the letter said Again, respectfully, you guys need to tone down the joking and speaking to each other humorously, in case you miss something that's integral to your viewing

Karl Kraus

i'm glad you guys got back to this but... you came back too early when I suggested continuing this on the message forum a couple of weeks ago, it was to be visited again AFTER you finished the SW sequel trilogy it looked like you wanted to do the back-to-back thing you've done for franchises since LOTR you had SUCH a fun time watching episode 7! plus, it was a cliffhanger ending so you HAD to want to know what happened next! NOW, you have THIS cliffhanger to resolve so I'm a BIT disappointed but excited at the same time

Karl Kraus

Another fun one. Just an observation, but anytime you folks do 80’s anything it seems like you’re having the most fun and I feel like I’m having the most fun right there with ya! Back To The Future, The Goonies, Dirty Dancing, watching Amber’s reaction to To Be With You (Mr. Big), you two with Werewolves of London (Warren Zevon) and, of course, literary ANYTHING from our boy Huey Lewis and The News. All of it, so much fun with all those special feel good 80’s ingredients. I’m here for it fam … always!

Rollo Tomassi

Good you’re continuing the series
