Like many of us, most I suspect, Gina tends to perk up when she hears her name mentioned. So when she catches a mention from the mysterious yet official looking woman being stripped in the alley where she has taken refuge, she's compelled to investigate. After introducing herself, she finds that the individual the woman is looking for has similar software qualifications to her own. Small old world, it seems.
This is the first time in this story where you see the non-screen side of the phone the mysterious business woman...oh let's just call her by her name: Veronica is using. It's an approximation of a phone I used to own, in a colour called "mystic blue": a swirling cloud of iridescent intertwining ribbons of blue, green and pink. Even the usual ugly phone case couldn't hide its majesty. It was beautiful, and when the screen protector started to come off, I made sure to have it professionally reapplied. And guess what this so-called "professional" did? Cracked the screen. It was under warranty, of course, so I got a new one, but its back was a kind of brushed copper finish. Mystic Blue was no longer available. I still miss that phone, so I hope Veronica takes care of hers.
