December Recommendations
Added 2022-12-13 01:32:21 +0000 UTCThe days are cold, the nights are long and you've eaten six different foods this week that were enthusiastically described to you as "a log" - my friends, it could only be December.
All Fantasy Everything can really only occupy 12-15 hours of your day at most, so what do with the remaining time? Well, you delicious little latke, we've got a ream of recommendations for you, whether you're celebrating for 12 days, eight nights... or Kwanzaa.
First off, a Christmas music free playlist to keep you warm:
David's songs:
Seek and destroy - Sza
On the way - Jhene Aiko
Out of time - The Weeknd
Mad Cobra - Flex
Damage - H.E.R
Sean up next:
In My Lifetime (Remix) - Jay-Z
Music - Eric Sermon feat. Marvin Gaye
Hard Place - H.E.R.
Show You The Way - Thundercat
Knock Knock - Mac Miller
Now Ian:
American Music - Violent Femmes
Roman Holiday - Fontaines D.C.
Chiribim, Chiribom - The Barry Sisters
You Need Love - Ebo Taylor
Come Monday - Jimmy Buffet
Once you've blasted those chunes, you could join Ian in the Bavarian Alps with Pentiment, a murder-mystery on the XBox that looks like an illuminated manuscript. If you've ever wanted to live in a Heironymous Bosch painting, this game is for you.

Stay in Bavaria for the book Ian tore through in two days last week "The Shortest History of Germany." It's exactly what it says. In 200 pages you'll learn enough about Germany to say "Well, it's really all the Prussian's fault."

If that isn't enough medieval fair for you, pop over to Amazon Prime and stream Catherine Called Birdy. An incredibly charming adaptation of the book that reminds you why Lena Dunham is so famous in the first place - she can write and direct her ass off! It's like A Knight's Tale and Greta Gerwig's Little Women had an arranged marriage.
If you're still looking for something to watch, throw on For All Mankind already. Fucking do it. It's on AppleTV. It's great. The creator said he wanted to imagine what would have to happen for the stuff in Star Trek to happen in real life. He starts in the 1960s and works forward from there.
Finally, Ian can't stop drinking Ho-Ho-Hoji Chai from Smith Tea. It's the reason for the season, baby.
Here's Sean's media report:
Here's what I've been feelin lately!
Oldie but a goodie, The Americans. It's Carrie Russell and Phillyp Rhys just doing sexy spy shit. It's great. And it takes place in the 80's so it's before phones.
If you're not on the spy or 80's tip right now, I got you! WATCH THE PATIENT on Hulu. It's Steve Carell and Domhnall Gleeson just straight up acting, bruv. They're both so amazing and it's really mostly the two of them just being great. Domhnall (pronounced don-all) really hasn't done anything wrong yet. It's very serious and kind of a bummer though.
That's it for TV. I recently watched Bros and it's hilarious. Just a feel good rom com that hits all the right notes. I loved every part of it. Easy watching and heart warming for the holidays.
Lastly, take it over to a documentary and watch All The Streets Are Silent on Hulu. It's pretty much KIDS but not a huge bummer. Just focuses on the influence skateboarding and hip-hop had on one another in the 90s. It's perfect and basically my brain poured out in a documentary.
I'll post David's later, he's on set, but it's probably like "butts" or something.
