2023 Conventions
Added 2023-02-27 18:09:39 +0000 UTCThe following is my tentative schedule for this year's IRL events. I realize this isn't applicable for most of you, but if you're in the Pennsylvania, USA area, here you go:
- Zenkaikon (Lancaster, PA) March 24-26 - on waitlist*
- Thy Geekdom Con (Oaks, PA) May 26 - 28 - accepted
- Natsukashii Con (Gettysburg, PA) Aug 18-20th - accepted
- Miryokucon (Baltimore, MD) Sep 29 - Oct 1st - pending application
*They said they can call me up to and including the days of the con to fill any vacant spots. The issue is, I have no idea how many people they put on the waitlist from the 250 applicants. They also said the waitlist is a lottery. TLDR I have to be fully prepped for March 24th, but there is a 99% chance I will *not* be going. Cool...
I've never tabled at a convention, so I don't want to spend a lot of money before I get my feet wet. The bigger cons are $300+ for a table. Not to mention hotel or flight prices If I choose to travel outside of driving range. So for this year, I am keeping it small and local to see what sells and to get practice in simply being there and managing logistical/business things.
I am going in with absolutely no expectations, but wish me luck nonetheless :)
