CESARE RIFF (FULL)
Added 2025-06-24 19:03:04 +0000 UTCI thought I would share this little peek behind the curtain, this is what Cesare's dialogue is like before I edit it down LOL...
His lines in the script are more like guidelines for Chris to riff off, and I construct the dialogue out of sections of riffing combined with his normal line readings.
It's no secret, but sometimes I worry I'm not upfront about it enough! š The character is very much a collaboration between Chris and I.
I really liked this one where he reveals Cesare has been "married to 30 men and 30 women in my time, PERFECT SPLIT!", I couldn't find a place to slot it into the actual scene because it has all this preamble, but I think it'll go in the bloopers when I do the compilation.
To me, anything Chris riffs is canon... Even the thing about almost catching Andy Serkis, I wouldn't imagine he'd be a specimen Caligari wants--but if Chris says it and it makes me laugh I'm like "WHY NOT!" š¤£
