VCF East, Production Schedule, and Spring Plans
Added 2023-04-13 13:00:04 +0000 UTCHey all, so I'm writing this less than 24 hours before VCF East. For those who follow the backend stuff, you'll know that my life has been going through a fair bit of upheaval since last December, and I'm still not sure where the dust is going to settle. So, let me lay down some points.
First off is VCF. VCF is a big event for me, since its where I tend to find most of the interesting pieces of hardware I show off on the channel. I'm both exhibiting and presenting at East on the PowerPC machines I've been restoring over the last year. Included will be the Motorola PowerStack running Solaris/ppc, the Model 150 running AIX and DOOM (as seen in the video), and the Model 140 running Windows NT and port of DOOM I showed here a few days ago.
I intend to do two follow up videos: one for the Windows NT/PowerPC port, and one for the to-be-done Solaris/ppc port (I got foiled by the compiler). I'm hoping to have these one month apart, for May and June respectively.
I may look at going to VCF Midwest, and maybe South, although I'd probably need to run a GoFundMe. I'll see how the reception goes, as East is only really viable since its an hour from here.
Meanwhile, I'm still dealing with some major things in life unrelated to the Internet. One of the biggest things is writing out a more formal plan on both helping keeping my channel and my projects financially sustainable. This is currently two to three places down on my TODO list, but it's something I intend to keep you all in the loop for.
Anyway, I hope to see you all at VCF East:

Hope you can come to VCF Midwest. If not that's totally understandable, but it would be really cool.
