[Update] YouTube Bilingual Subtitles
Added 2024-02-23 13:53:28 +0000 UTCHi everyone, we've made some updates to the YouTube bilingual subtitles recently:
Machine translation now supports Azure and DeepL.
You can use these machine translation services by logging into the plugin, similar to how you log into Netflix bilingual subtitles. If you're not logged in, you'll receive an error message when using these two machine translation services.
The video duration limit for generating subtitles has been increased from 3 hours to 24 hours.
Now you can generate subtitles for public lectures and longer videos! We've invested in additional GPUs to support this feature. Generating subtitles for an 8-hour video now takes about 20 seconds.
Fixed the issue where Japanese subtitles would continue displaying even after the designated end time.
Sometimes YouTube's Japanese subtitles would have timing issues. We've made some adjustments to these subtitles, so the viewing experience should be improved now.
Why doesn't subtitle generation support automatic selection?
This is because our server resources are still limited, and to avoid waste, we're asking users to manually select the subtitles for now.

For users who haven't downloaded yet, we highly recommend giving it a try, especially our subtitle translation feature. It's definitely better than YouTube's built-in translation feature. Additionally, since our subtitles are translated on demand, they also support long tutorial videos like those on freeCodeCamp (YouTube only generates partial subtitles for these videos during translation). We hope these features will be helpful for your learning journey.
