Guten Tag, Thorster. I was rewatching your video on Final Fantasy X and linearity. I was wondering whether you have any thoughts on the last two areas of the game: Mount Gagazet and Zanarkand. For Gagazet I like the trippy wall with the Fayth stuck in an eternal dream as well as that weird ball of droplets with people in them. For Zanarkand it's the eerie vibe of the place with the Pyerflies and visions of the dead around every corner. It's not a chill vibe, but these places fit perfectly in terms of the themes of the game. At Gagazet Tidus realizes that (20-year old spoilers incoming) he is a dream of the Fayth and cannot live without the presence of the Dadfish. The march through Zanarkand was in my head-canon not just Yuna facing her demise but also Tidus grappling with his existence. I think the music in Zanarkand is great because it reflects the many different emotions going through the party: sadness, anger, disbelief and a strange sense of determination to end the Pilgrimage. It just struck a cord with me. Anyways, keep on keeping on and peace!
