The bright sky of possibility ends and her future is partially set in her view. Old traumas are freshly painted with this new one and she clings to the only one to give her hope. The Warden. Which is why there is a semi spotlight on her.
In other news - I'm really enjoying returning to black and white when working on the new comic pages for the next chapter. Tense moments and fights ahead. Stay tuned.

That look of compassion and understanding, a very tender moment from someone who before all this was very judgemental (and not without merit) of Whisper and her friends. I feel like her witness of Whisper's past trauma, and the additional context from Whisper's interactions with both Warden and the Prisoner have really made an impact on how Warden perceives the half-elves they have in their custody.

These are vivid emotional mnemonic concepts and ideas - that will consume the mind in repetitive waves. This is a new important memory, possibly the most important one of their lives. But Whisper and Crusher both only had one session, whereas Grace has been in their care for weeks.
