The relation is understandable just because of the "Machine Spirit" being a catch all and in some lore the imperium use to just chalk them up to "Alien Machine Spirits". I just say no because to relate the Necrons to the simple catch all is like relating a tiger to all cats. Sure both are cute and fuzzy but only one is acceptable to die to when it grows up.

The confusion is valid just because machine spirit is a catch all term for "machine does thing we didnt tell it to do". Consider Necrons as a species turned into machines rather than just machines with possibly AI.

Endless world generation centered around gathering resources and constantly developing better automation including automated trains! There are hostile bug creatures to deal with but many settings you can tweak as you learn. A 10/10 game and I plan to buy the Spage Age DLC soon! Anyway, see everyone for the stream!
