VHS 5x4 Audio Matrix

Based again on a schematic from Handmade Electronic Music by Nicolas Collins.  When this is done I'll be able to mix five inputs independently to four outputs (four ins & three outs with mini jacks, basically because I didn't have space in the case to do all of them).  What is the point of this?  Well, I'll be able to control the amount of each signal being sent to .. let's say .. two main outputs for stereo recording, and two effects .. or one effect and an external monitor.  The effect can then be plugged into an input and added to the stereo mix - or EVEN SENT BACK INTO ITSELF!!!  WHOAH NELLY!!  Way more versatile and powerful than the gelato-can mixer (which does work, and you'll be hearing something I did with it soon.)

This thing is going to be totally sick when it's done.  As will I, after the hours of wire-snipping and point-to-point soldering which I still have to do.  It's tedious!  But resin-core solder smells so good...

I remember taking apart old televisions when I was a teen, harvesting resisters and coils. It’s amazing what they accomplished with discrete components and dedication. I can understand why television sets were so ungodly expensive back then. I dropped the hobby long ago but I can appreciate a little bit what you're doing.

Every one of those pots has to have at least three wires connected to it. I'll post more progress later, and you'll see the whole thing become remarkably less tidy.

Looks very tidy so far. I'd like to see another photo when it's done.
