We have two extreamly quailfied candidates!

This has been a great week. We posted the Job last week Monday -- by this week Sunaday we have not one, but two confirmations of availability, and two finished code tests. 

The above image is from Curtis, our first candidate. The second is from James. Both are nearly identical visually but achieved it in different ways under the hood.

The code tests were pretty simple: build a small Finite State Machine that allows the rotation of objects around a character according to the design document provided. 

Within a dozen hours they both had a finished test. Didn't even take til Monday. 

Here I was, pessimist me, thinking this would take 2-3 months and, yeah, we found two people who exceeded my expectations. They both fun to worth with, quick to respond, inquisitive, ask great questions, spot issues before they arise, and they're lightning fast coders who can interpret correctly the design documentation -- and follow through to deliver far ahead of their two week window. 

We're going to talk to a finance adviser Monday and then make a final choice:

We think we're hiring both of them. :D

One full time, one part time. 

We'll assign them to related sides of the combat system until that is fleshed out and functional, and in a few weeks or months, we'll set them loose on UX/UI concerns that are a little complex, and getting terrain and maps working as intended. 

This is going to stress us out financially bringing on two new full timers at a decent, but low, salary.
