Agreed! This show is well-written. After watching it again, you start seeing more of the subtle hints about future, and past events, early on. For example, the older Somas use a lot of gender-neutral pronouns when talking about Akito. There are also little things, like when Kyo first says "Why is SHE here?" You see in his face, that he knows who she is. It completely changes the context when you understand the history behind his question. His body language shows it, too. I'm happy you tackled it! Now you just need to check out Yona of the Dawn! LOL! I'll for sure be there for that one. If you do, the dub is great! It's got Christopher Sabot as Hak, one of the mains. He's a great VA! I love him in all his roles. Whenever he talks, I either get Yami from Black Clover, Hak, or Ayame! LOL! Solo Leveling was really good, too!

I do also enjoy how they did the relationship between toru and yuki. In the beginning I thought they were end game but throughout the show they sort of convinced you to think of their relationship as more of a friendship.

Just finished bingeing the series. This is one of my all-time favorite anime. You're right about it not being the best romance. I think there have been shows that put the romance front and center more than this, but the romance in this is sweet, especially how everything wraps up. I know I'm late to the party, but I'm glad you reacted to this. Thanks!
