My husband and I have decided to write this post about the BLM movement because we are tired. We're tired of worrying about being stopped by the police. We're tired of wondering where it is safe enough for us to hold hands in public. We're tired of having to defend the validity of our interracial relationship.

If you don't think racism exists, you've lived a very sheltered life. Our marriage is living proof of white privilege. When Ahmed gets denied or has to work twice as hard to get things done, we use Magnolia's white privilege. Racism is alive in this world and that includes the police.

It's so insane to think that our future kids may experience discrimination in a way that Magnolia never has. We don't want our future children to have to fight a fight that should have ended with our grandparents.

As a white belly dancer, Magnolia feels obligated to support equality for POC's. This dance comes from POC, how can we not support their fight?

As part of that support, we will be donating 100% of this month's patreon earnings to the ACLU. Join a protest, sign petitions, donate, call your lawmakers, VOTE.
