World Building Prompt: Quarries
Added 2023-02-23 08:00:02 +0000 UTCNot all precious material is in mountains! Just digging under the soil's surface can be enough or mining specific stones that are embedded in hard earth. Things like granite, limestone, marble, and specific colored sand. There are 2 types of quarries: one dug into the ground and one that is dug into a hill or cliffside. Both can be indicated on a map and both present interesting and unique designs into the stones being mined. Some quarries can be turned into amphitheaters, swimming holes, and other structures after all the rock being mined has run out. Imagine an entire village of people living in an old stone quarry!
