A Collection of Ideas (and an apology)

Guys, I'm really sorry there's been nothing in the way of uploads this month.
It's been a few things, to which I hope you'll indulge my explanation below...

The main thing is i've generally just not been able to sit down and conjure ideas the way I usually can. It's been a proper head empty month. I don't know if it's poor sleep or stress or a disinterest, but I sit there with a blank page and nothing calls out. Maddening, genuinely maddening.
Additionally, anything i have managed to drag out from my foggy brain i've just not been vibing with. Add that with all the amazing work people pop out day after day on social media and it's kind of left me a little frazzled. Like, it's never good enough so just give up, you know? It's been eating me the hell up, but who do i talk to about my weirdly specific first world problem, especially right now?

So that's where i've been. I did give up nicotine finally (i was addicted to mouth sprays and gum), so it might have something to do with the sudden lack of dopamine or something, but boy does it totally suck. I think the worst of it is passed mind you but thanks to a month of inactivity and stress nothing i've started art-wise is going to be ready. (Massive fucking SIGH.)
I have started working on bits and bobs post mega art block that i'm happy with (including a couple of comms), but they need more time in the oven, so in the meantime I hope this will suffice - a little sneak peak into some ideas that have been swimming around but never went anywhere/ haven't gone anywhere yet.
Once again, i'm sorry. I'll try to make it up to you guys later - pausing pledges for a month as something tangible perhaps though i will say if you leave/have left (and a few understandably have), i totally get it, but if you stick by, thank you for supporting me during a bit of a rough patch. ❤️

So anyways, what even is all this old stuff?

1 - Corruptor (working title as of writing). Yeah yeah, i was playing around with the idea of a hard reboot of Rodarc. I've made a serious outline of the new roster of characters (Winty and Otay are no longer involved) and the concept would more closely revolve around Mar's declining mental state as the goo invades his body. It's not exactly something i can think about ad hoc because i really want it to be good.

2 - As of yet unnamed werewolf comic. Would take place in a victorian styled world and at current time of writing was going to be like a "who done it" style mystery. Someone is the werewolf, but no-one know's who. Potential official Winty lore integration would've come into play as well, but i'll really have to think about going down a whole connected universe rabbit hole like i did with Rodarc. One for the future post "To Become a Beast" perhaps...

(by the by, i know TBAB isn't finished - i just don't want to rush it to completion and right now in this mindset that's exactly what i'd be doing. Bear with me! ^^;;;;)

3 - Arcanthropy. Another werewolf themed comic. Didn't go anywhere because i'm not sure i like the idea of using my bird character Arti in this. Definitely would like a different character. It was going to be fairly bloodborne inspired and would feature Aokyrax (horse cocked orange lizard wizard) causing some issues for all involved. Would have been mostly just an excuse for an attempt at hot tf werewolf porn.

4 - Remastered V4NT. I've been swithering on whether to update Vessels for Night Things to bring it in line with To Become a Beast as they're interconnected (I'd really like to retrofit Rory's transformed design from TBAB back), so mostly to humour myself, i reworked the first page with the trees from TBAB, a quick shading pass and some reworked dialogue. It does lose a bit of the "vhs"y texture the old one had with the chunky blacks, but i dunno, it also gains some nicer colour. Choices.
Not sure this will come to pass due to the silly way i made that first comic - all character and bg line work and shading was done on one layer, meaning i have to painstakingly split the two in order to rework everything. But those original trees... They're awful enough i might just do it 😂
