The Thistlehold [coffee map]

Hello, my dear adventurers!

Today, I am incredibly excited to share a map from a new project I am creating for you: "The Lament of the Thistle Knight" (the title is a working one).

And when I say "brewing," I mean it literally! ☕ I am starting this journey alone with an exclusive first look at the regional map, hand-drawn by me with coffee and finished digitally! This unique, atmospheric work charts the dangerous path to the cursed Thistlehold Castle through five legendary Bogs of Sorrow.

But a map is only the beginning. Every legend needs a heart. And I want to share with you the tragic story that will bring this world to life:

The Legend of the Thistle Knight and The Fairy

Long ago, a mortal knight, Sir Alistair, pledged his love to Elara, a fairy of the woods. He promised her his hand, and she gifted him a cloak of enchanted thistles—a symbol of her wild, protective love.

But duty shackles the hearts of men. The knight's father, a stern lord, demanded a political marriage. He discovered the fairy and threatened to destroy her grove if Alistair refused. Cornered and heartbroken, the knight broke his vow.

On his wedding day, a single, bitter tear from Elara fell upon the thistle cloak. Her grief, not her malice, held a power of its own. The knight became bound to his betrayal, his soul turning into a ghost, forever chained to his decaying castle, now overgrown with sharp, unforgiving thistles.

They say he is a wrathful spirit. The truth is, he is a soul drowning in an eternity of regret, waiting for someone kind enough to listen and grant him release.
