changes to $2 and $5 tiers
Added 2020-08-23 16:47:23 +0000 UTChey everyone! I have some potentially disappointing news - I'm going to stop taking commissions all the time for the $2 tier, and stop doing freebie streams for the $5 tier. I need to make some changes on how I approach my art; currently it isn't very satisfying, and I take on so much work that I have too much physical pain when I get time to work on my own stuff.
I think I will make the changes like this:
$2 tier: instead of an open commission form all the time, patrons will get access to sneak peeks of what I'm working on, including wips and step by steps. these might be game screenshots, 3D modeling breakdowns, animation clips, comic pages, or whatever else I'll be working on! (I have 1 game and 1 animation miniseries I'm already doing at least)
$5 tier: instead of freebie streams, patrons will get first dibs at commission openings, and I will choose what I'm going to work on from patron's entries; if there aren't many entries to choose from then I will also open them publicly on social media
previously the $2 tier for commission access was equivalent to a small tip on top of the commission, so it felt more appropriate to switch it with the $5 tier, so wips would be cheaper to see but commissions would get a slightly larger tip/"paywall". after all, I'm trying to shift this patreon more towards helping support me with my own work instead of only doing work for others.
the higher tiers won't change, stickers and prints will still be the same and anyone who's on the old art tiers can still get monthly commissions. I might be a little more strict about the colored sketch tiers though, instead of taking a price increase for them to be scenes/etc I think I will cap them at flat colored only.
anyway, feel free to share your thoughts! thank you very much for reading and understanding and I hope you'll still enjoy the content I put out here.

Aaah if ever there was a time to regret not being on the old art tier still. Will do my best to catch your normal openings.
