The Supreme Court Case that Changed the Rights of Workers for Decades (Lochner v. New York)

In episode 71 of Supreme Court Briefs, a baker gets arrested and fined after working his workers too much.

As a reminder, these videos perform horribly. I am only motivated to make them since I enjoy them, a small number of you all enjoy them, and American history and government teachers often find them useful. Because of this series not performing well, I no longer have sponsors for it. This makes your support even more important, so thank you for continuing to support my stuff!

Also, I'm almost done writing my Supreme Court book! It's quite epic, and I think if you like this series you'll dig the book.

Take care!

Well thank you and I'm so glad to hear that. πŸ™‚

Mr. Beat

Mr Beat, I really enjoy Supreme Court Briefs videos. Thank you for making them in spite of low performance. The epic book sounds very interesting.

I appreciate the words of support!

Mr. Beat

I love the SCOTUS vids please keep them coming even if they don't do well.

Hubert Horatio Humphrey!

Thank you for the work you do.

Mr. Beat

The takeaway I got was the part about limiting work that is related to public health to 60 hours a week. I work in an ER. My wife and I are purchasing a home, so temporarily I've been picking up more hours to pay for those upfront expenses. I asked to work more than 60 one week, and my boss said I couldn't. Hospital policy. But I didn't know it was federal law for public health. Very interesting.

I don't understand

Kasonia Kisangani

They get about 1/4 of the views πŸ˜”

Mr. Beat

How do the Supreme Court Briefs not do well compared to your other videos? The SCOTUS videos are some of the most important videos on the YouTube, yet no body watches them?! I don't get it.

Kasonia Kisangani

Good to know! I have several more episodes planned already in the coming months. :)

Mr. Beat

It's definitely my favorite series.

lol I do, too

Mr. Beat

The actual good content is often ignored, both by people and by websites. Quality doesn't bring in the dough. See what I did there? I need more coffee...
