Map #59: Restaurant (w/secret back room)

I finally got around to making a restaurant, and, if your players decide to visit, they may find that there's more on the menu here than excellent pasta.

Those who know use a back entry, pass through the kitchen, then go through the walk-in freezer to a hidden door. Back there they're cooking methamphetamine (as a blue crystal, naturally).

My generous Patrons can get up to 8 variations of this map.

In the base Vintage (1920s) variation the back room is a swanky speakeasy. There's a Modern variation ('Club'), in which I imagined the secret second bar might be a crime lord's private spot.

Secret rooms are fine places to call on Elder Gods, so there are Cultist variations in both Modern and Vintage flavours, and I made spooky Abandoned variations as usual.

Finally, there's a variation with a nasty Interrogation room in the back, complete with a cell, telling bloodstains, and (gulp) jumper cables.

Maybe you don't need to complicate your campaign with a secret room? The restaurant can easily stand on its own as the back room can be sliced off the top or ignored completely.

Every variation comes in Night/Day and Gridded/Ungridded versions, for a total of up to 32 maps in this pack:

I hope Spring brings you all good weather and great gaming.

Posted! I hope it works for your game. Thanks for being a Patron and for the suggestion.

Again: I have no idea what kind of extra work this would be. I am glad to pay extra for efforts done on my behalf, but I also absolutely understand if that seems like a chore you do not care to take on.

Most scifi settings that I have seen, tend to rely on trying to look as "artificial" as possible -- so probably cooler tones to colors, maybe metallic looks, and brightly colored gemstone or neon accents. I am definitely not an expert! But I think if we set aside the "round" part of space themed real world restaurants like the "Loupe Lounge" restaurant at the Toronto Space Needle, or "Space 220" at Disney World, or the "Starport Cafe" at NASA's Johnson Space Center, I see mostly blue-white lighting on a base of blue-tinted gray or maybe dull brass. I think the base version you have for "Meth Lab" or "Interrogation" would be really close, if you could make the kitchen, rest rooms, and back room look a smidgen more metallic?

Thanks Jennie! Can you be more specific about what I could do to make it a space station restaurant?

Stephen McMillan

These are GREAT and we will definitely be using more than one variation! Any chance I could pay you a little extra to do the color swaps for a "space station restaurant" suitable for adventurers in Star Wars, Traveller, and so on? If not, that's fine, I'll send them dirtside.
