IRREFUTABLE PROOF

Physical backer update: I found it! And by "it" I mean a way to get hard copies out to you without having to manually cart them down to the post office and navigate the mystifying world of weight tariffs. They're being printed by Belmont, who used to do Games Workshop's codexes, so we're in good company. I'm not 100% sure on timing but I've sent over the PDFs, so keep an eye out.

I wanted to make a game where, instead of rolling dice, you just picked what result you were going to get. Could that be interesting?

I messed around with different fictional wrappers - how could we play with the idea of knowing what was going to happen before it happened? What about psychics, or mutants, or psychic mutants? What about - I dunno - mystics and spirit mediums?

Spirit Mediums! What if you were the only real spirit mediums in the world, and everyone else was faking it?

I thought about this for precisely five minutes before deciding that just picking what result you get is boring and it's much more fun to write a game about fake magicians. So, with almost no connective tissue to the original idea: please enjoy IRREFUTABLE PROOF.

(Not sure on the name. Some people recommended MEDIUMS AT LARGE which is funny, for sure.)

IRREFUTABLE PROOF is a game about fake necromancers trapped in a real necromancy situation. It's a con artist game where all the marks are played by the players, not the GM, and it doesn't matter if they all go along with whatever ridiculous scheme that's put forward, because an actual ghost is going to kill all of them.

I've been experimenting with Canva as a layout program, and although I must admit it's lacking some of the rough-edged charm exhibited by cutting up bits of paper and sticking them to each other, it has allowed me to do some actual design on this one. But that means I haven't had space to draw a silly picture of a ghost on it, so you know, swings and roundabouts.

Love,

- G
