Had a quad at my high school in Georgia and my college in Florida. They were fairly common in my area.

We played this game called Kick Catch and Run where someone would kick a ball up and you had to catch it and essentially runback a touchdown on the blacktop without getting tagged. Stopped being able to play that when a kid ran into a pole.
