Short Stories

One of the new parts to this month's issue of d12 Monthly was a short story. It was part one of a two part story (the second part comes out in Feb's issue).
It was submitted by Scout Prior (who also has a Patreon if you like stories with meaning).
My question to you is: do you like short stories in the zine? I know they were popular back in the day with Dragon Magazine readers, but just wondering if they hold the same popularity for d12 Monthly.

I hear ya, Van. Yeah, I think I would add it to the page length, rather than replace it, in the future.

2024-01-22 21:54:05 +0000 UTCI really enjoy 'zines more for the tools and theory content, than fiction to read. I'm not against a short story here and there, but i would hate for it to take up precious room for a new Class or house rules discussion that might better aid my games.

2024-01-22 20:31:45 +0000 UTCStories are good, but need to be punchy, fast and short. Like the pulps, but compressed even more. The formula is it's bad, it gets worse, theres a twist, and the hero survives, trailing irony. Subvert tropes. Lots of action.
