Before we get too deep into Amir's concept art and development that Atlas and I are still working on, I still have some expression concept art for Mori to share as we wrapped up his introductory chapter a couple weeks ago.
One of the larger remaining facets we had left for Mori's design was getting his monster form-facial expressions down. We knew he needed something scary/threatening but we also decided to give him a warmer, very catlike happy squint. We thought it would have a lot of impact during flirty or saucy scenes. You can kind of see our development steps down below.

He's a very scary boy. Mori as a human also has some ferality to him so we had to have a lot of the same discussions going into more facial development.
(Can we take a second to appreciate how fluffy and luxurious Atlas always draws his hair?? I love it very much).

We had to go through a few different iterations to hit the exact right balance but luckily for us, Altas gave him a very expressive face and he has a great nose for that little judgmental snarl.

Also we wanted a Threat face that conveyed how rare it is for Mori to get legitimately angry. He gets into lots of fights, sure but he is a chaotic bastard and usually has lots of fun doing that, sometimes he's even friends with the person afterwards.
And finally of course we needed something that took his flirty leer into something overtly dirty which lead us to the Mori Fuckboy Face.

Anyway! All of these have been added to the Concept Art Gallery so you're free to check them out at your leisure! https://www.dropbox.com/home/Tri%20City%20Monsters%20Concept%20Art
